History
The Polish Association for Canadian Studies (PACS) was established on the 17th of April 1998 at the first Congress of Polish Canadianists held at Warsaw University.
The first president of the organization was Prof. Anna Reczyńska, head of the Chair for Canadian Studies (Jagiellonian University, Kraków). In April 2001, during the Second Congress of Polish Canadianists, which was also the First International Canadian Studies Conference held in Poland, the new executive was elected: President - Dr Ewa Wełnic, Deputy President - Prof. Maciej Abramowicz, Secretary - Dr Agnieszka Rzepa, Tresaurer – Mr Jakub Wójcik.
In May 2004, during the 3rd Congress of Polish Association for Canadian Studies, which was also the 3rd International Conference of Central European Canadianists held in Cracow, Poland, the new executive was elected: President - Dr. Agnieszka Rzepa, Deputy President - Dr. Eugenia Sojka, Secretary - Tomasz Soroka, M.A., Treasurer - Dr. Piotr Sadkowski.
In April 2007, during the 4th Congress of Polish Association for Canadian Studies held in Pulawy, Poland, the new executive was elected: President - Prof. Krzysztof Jarosz, Deputy President - Dr. Agnieszka Rzepa, Secretary - Tomasz Soroka, M.A., Treasurer - Dr. Marcin Gabryś.
In October 2010, during the 5th Congress of Polish Association for Canadian Studies held in Krakow, Poland, the new executive was elected: President - Prof. Krzysztof Jarosz, Deputy President - Dr. Eugenia Sojka, Secretary - Dr. Tomasz Sikora, Treasurer - Dr. Marcin Gabryś.
At the 6th Congress of Polish Association for Canadian Studies held in Poznan, Poland in April 2013, the new executive was elected: President - Dr. Marcin Gabryś, Deputy President - Dr hab. Anna Branach-Kallas, Secretary - Dr. Tomasz Soroka, Treasurer - Dr. Ewelina Bujnowska
At the 7th Congress of Polish Association for Canadian Studies held in Toruń, Poland in 2016, the new executive was elected: President - prof. dr hab. Anna Branach-Kallas, Deputy President - prof. UAM dr hab. Dagmara Drewniak, Secretary - Dr. Małgorzata Czubińska, Treasurer - Dr. Ewelina Bujnowska
At the 9th Congress of Polish Association for Canadian Studies held in Białystok, Poland in 2022, the new executive was elected:
President - prof. UAM dr hab. Dagmara Drewniak
Deputy President - Dr. Anna Żurawska
Secretary - Dr. Marcin Markowicz
Treasurer – Dr. Magdalena Paluszkiewicz-Misiaczek
