Nancy Burke
Professor Nancy Burke passed away on 12 February 2006.
Professor Burke was the doyenne of Polish Canadian Studies. Through her Canadian literature courses at the University of Warsaw, her knowledge, her energy, her devotion to the study of Canadian literature she inspired the rise of Canadian studies in Poland and the foundation of the Polish Association of Canadian Studies. For many of us, in Poland and abroad, she was not only a valued collegue, but also a cherished friend. May she rest in peace!
